Back To School Gift Ideas

The school season is fast approaching, and some of us are more excited about that than others. Surprising students or teachers with somethings special is one way to make the day more bearable or exciting (depending on the student). Here are some fun ways to show appreciation for students, teachers, or parents during this upcoming back-to-school season.

Day-One Surprises

Whether its a special breakfast the morning of, a spontaneous coffee-run on the way to, new school supplies, or care packages for college, surprises make the first day feel more exciting. Teachers in my life love coming to their classroom to find sweet treats or kind notes on their desks. Growing up, I loved cracking open a new set of markers or big pack of Crayola-brand crayons, and during my first week back at college, opening my mailbox to find a package made my day.

Don't miscount the small things. They make a difference on the first day and on any other day!

Pick-Me Ups

Pick-me ups are a great way to encourage someone and show them they're remembered. These kinds of gifts can look like a fresh pack of gum, a cold energy drink, a thoughtful, handwritten note, flowers, a sweet treat, or even a trip to a relaxing, outdoor spot.

Memory Making

Creative outlets are a great way to relieve the stress that often comes with the school season. And art classes, workshops, club memberships, or sports equipment can help students, teachers, or parents relax, have fun, and create new memories (outside of school or alongside homework!). My mom integrated activities like these into our school curriculum growing up, and we LOVED them. She paired them with our school assignments, which helped us associate learning with fun and often made homework much more enjoyable.
